Perhaps, considering how short sighted they are to begin with, as their eyes begin to develop their 'world view' expands to include things that are a foot away, then 2 feet away then behold they can see things on the other side of the room.......and if your brain is wired for faces, having a door slide into focus must take a bit of thought.
